Local News: Atty. Menchie calls unity in protecting environment
Posted by PIO-Antipolo on 2010-09-09 10:22:38 PHTAtty. Menchie Leyble called for unity and to make way for cooperation now that rainy season in the country is approaching. The Executive Assistant for Social Services reiterated that politics should be set aside and that this is the most appropriate time to work hand in hand in dealing with the outcome of the rainy days to come.
“It’s the unity that counts. Menchie Leyble, also the president-founder of the Newly Integrated Ladies Organization (NILO).
Just recently, Atty. Menchie and NILO member helped residents of Brgy. Cupang to clean their creek and roads, in particular, getting rid of plastics and non-biodegradable materials that may soon clog waterways in the future.
Atty. Menchie also called the attention of barangay officials to coordinate with their constituents regarding the collection of garbage. She said that the concerns of residents particularly in the sitios of Barangay Cupang should not be neglected so as not to result to dire consequences.
Menchie added. She leads the all-women organization of NILO and kept reminding them of the horrors brought upon by typhoon Ondoy. But with consistent cooperation and awareness, according to Atty. Menchie, we can prevent such tragedy. (END)
